Intensity in life

We are not used to have a high level of energy. When we live an intense situation, our minds try to reduce the intensity.

To have a high level of energy, it requires training, or “untraining“, depending on the angle you look on it. Birth is a very intense situation (for both the mother and tbe baby). Babies have this high level of energy. We all go through this.

But then, in our actual society, we learn that intensity is not good. It bothers the smooth functioning of the good citizens. Thus, we learn to reduce intensity.

When a child lives with a lot of intensity (and therefore needs to move, has a bright fantasy, strong feelings), it is diagnosed hyperactivity and it will be treated correspondingly: with tranquilizers.

Learning to have a high level of energy requires be ready to feel intensity. Intensity scares, because we learned that intensity is dangerous: Mostly, we experienced intensity when something horrible happened: a death, an accident, a violent change in our lives.

Therefore, we avoid intensity, as if it were the happening itself.

Nonetheless, life is intense per se.
